Rieko has been a massage therapist for 15 years. Her passion for how the body works started in high school in Japan, and led to her studying a teaching degree in Physical Education. She then changed her career direction to pursue massage therapy in Japan. This passion kept growing after she came to Australia. After attending countless seminars and courses in different modalities both in Australia and Japan, she has gained invaluable knowledge over the years and indispensable skills in her current treatments. Rieko uses kinesiology muscle testing and techniques, acupressure, meridian techniques and neuromuscular stretches.
The focus of her treatment is to find the neuromuscular imbalances in the body, and treat them rather than to treat only the symptoms. Rieko has worked alongside many different allied health professionals, which has given her great experience to provide support for clients with all different modalities, and to deliver quality, intensive treatment when clients need.
Rieko’s other interest is sports training; she has worked for semi-professional football teams in Adelaide and Brisbane. Working closely with athletes is a fun and different environment, which always gives her positive energy and vitality.
You can see Rieko in the Cairns clinic on Wednesdays and Fridays.
