The spine is a very complex structure consisting of 24 bones called vertebra. There are 7 in the neck, 12 in the middle back and 5 in the lower back. They are separated by discs and have holes on either side for the nerves to pass through.
The main role of the spine is to protect the delicate spinal cord and to allow your torso to move. When the spine has problems it can cause pain, stiffness, aching, muscle tightness or weakness, nerve pressure and many other problems.
Spinal treatment should be gentle, specific and tailored to your body. When performed by a skilled practitioner, it may be effective at helping with the above mentioned problems.
