- Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine larger than 10 degrees. This means that when you look at the spine from behind it isn’t straight
- Scoliosis most often begins at the ages of 10-13
- Girls are more affected than boys
- Early detection and treatment is essential for the best results
- Often Scoliosis is missed by the untrained eye
- Posture changes are usually the first sign. Confirmation and diagnosis is made with an x-ray
Several members of our team have performed additional training in scoliosis detection, treatment and management.
We are affiliated with Scolicare and work closely with the Sydney Scoliosis Clinic who are dedicated to non-surgical Scoliosis treatment and management. We are the only clinic north of Brisbane to provide this service.
We have the technology to perform 3D body scans to enable the treatment of moderate curves with rigid bracing. We are able to provide the full service of fitting the brace, monitoring and modifying as the spine grows.
We are also qualified to provide the exercise advice to help manage postural distortions caused by a scoliosis.
